The microwave and oven are both easy to use and work well. They were installed in our new home and we have experienced no problems with either oven. It is convenient having them both in one unit and in one space in the cabinets. The settings are straight forward.

Annoying microwave and weak oven

The microwave display keeps dimming so I can't read the clock. I've set it on bright a dozen times and after several minutes it is barely visable. Also the chime is very weak and the vent continues after the oven is done so you have no idea when your food is done. The oven takes at least 20 (usually 30) minutes to heat up and has annoying hot spots. Not a great oven.

Since I reviewed the microwave, this is about the oven. I have had service several times because the temperature was not accurate. I had two thermometers inside and they were either over or under the temperature I set. When baking this can be quite important. I like the low-broil feature and use it all the time to crisp the tops of whatever I have been roasting and sometimes baking. I check the oven temperature against the thermometer and adjust it up or down accordingly. It seems to be behaving more and more so whatever the problem was, it may have self corrected.

Disappointed with the product and Bosch

In the year and a half we have had this product, the microwave has been serviced 4 times. During that time we have been without a microwave for at least 8 weeks. In the past 40 years I've owned 3 other microwaves, none of which have had any problems. My husband has spent hours and hours on the phone with Bosch. I have finally ordered a small countertop microwave until Bosch sees fit to let us know whether they will replace this unit. I would seriously advise against buying this product.

bosch 500 series combination oven

generally disappointing. the microwave clock is never bright and gets dimmer to invisible over time. The oven fan is LOUD and continues after the oven is turned off while it continuously pumps hot air into the kitchen. Both appliances bake and microwave adequately but these are disappointing products. However it did fit perfectly in the space. Called for service in November and earliest appointment January 3. Tried to call bosch and was on hold over 45 minutes and then told to cut breaker...no change. Is that the answer to every problem?

We purchased this combination oven through the builder as an upgrade Bosch appliance package and have had temperature issues with the oven itself. Checked the manual to determine how to calibrate the oven temp and the instructions did not make sense as a combination oven was not a choice. Realized the manual I have is not for our model; however, when I go online to get the manual on the Bosch site, it defaults to the manual I have already which is for double ovens. I do not have instructions to calibrate oven for this model. This is very frustrating. Same issue as noted in other reviews with microwave where digital display reverts to faint display while oven display remains bright. We had an error code on the microwave suddenly appear but it went away and seems ok. After reading other reviews, I am worried. We have been in the house less than one year.

Purchased this unit for our new home. Installed, quit working immediately. Consistently quits when using oven first, then microwave. Shows error codes E011 and E032. Only fixable by switching the breaker on and off. I contacted Bosch, who told me they can't find those codes, which I find strange. I was referred to a local repair shop. Meanwhile, oven starts working normally again for about a month, I was hoping we were in the clear. But it started acting the same way this week, so I'll be reaching out again. Really disappointed- this wasn't a cheap purchase and such a headache!

Okay but nothing special

Have had this oven since May 2021 after ordering in November 2020. Pandemic delays aside, this "combination" unit is two very different units next to each other. The digital displays on the microwave and oven are completely different fonts and brightness (you absolutely cannot see the microwave display) and it looks terrible. No special features at all for the price of the combination. It would be cheaper to spring for a better microwave and better single wall oven in your space than this. Convection features work great and microwave function is typical.

Dont buy, it won't last

We've had two of these units now over the past two years. The oven is fine but the microwave starts sparking after about a year. We paid for the additional warranty from the Bosch dealer. We still had to pay service fees for them to come out and look at the unit. They replaced a small part which failed in a month eventually leading to replacement of the entire unit. We were then told that our original warranty wasn't valid for the new unit and that we would have to purchase another. This "new" second microwave has already failed less than a year later. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Thousands of dollars should get you a unit that lasts longer than a year.

The microwave stopped working after the second usage. Either a short circuit or another electric problem happened when opening the microwave door 2 seconds before the end of the cycle. Unit is new and not working. Since this is a combo oven and microwave unit, it is difficult to pull out for repairs: heavy!! Do not recommend this product and do not recommend buying cmbo units.

Microwave display is unreadable

I have no complaints about the cooking mechanisms of the ovens, the food cooks nicely. The problem, and it's a big one, is the display on the microwave oven. The image you see in the photo provided by Bosch is not what you get. The display is so faint it's unreadable most of the time, and you can't make it brighter. You have to move around the kitchen to find an angle where you can just make out the numbers. (The display on the microwave does not match the display on the oven. The oven display is bright and fine.) When I stand on a step stool and look down on the microwave from above I am able to read the numbers. There is a tiny viewing angle that is optimal, but even then the display eventually fades out. Bosch should specify this unit should not be installed above a certain height. It's truly bizarre, I thought displays on microwaves had been figured out in the '80s. Bosch repair service has been great, and I had the microwave display replaced, but it didn't fix anything. This is a design flaw and it should never have passed quality control. I may have to complain and get my money back for this entire unit because it's an unsolvable problem. If you enjoy microwaving in the blind, this unit is for you. Otherwise I'd avoid this Bosch unit and look to another brand. Make sure you view it in the showroom so you know what you're getting.

Do NOT purchase a Bosch 500 Series Combination

The units main power board went south after only 16 months of service with resulting repair charges over $600.00 for parts and labor. This is not a well designed product. Waited over 45 minutes for Bosch service on telephone before finally giving up. We will NEVER purchase another Bosch appliaance.
